Sympathizing with her due to his parents abandoning him and Chifuyu, Ichika decides to keep Charles' secret as she'll be safe at the IS Academy due to Diplomatic immunity. Meanwhile, Laura, who blames Ichika for blemishing Chifuyu's record removes her eye-patch, revealing a golden left eye and swears revenge on him. #7 - Blue Days / Red Switch Season 1 - Episode 7 Houki becomes pressured to win the upcoming inter-class tournament after her attempt to ask Ichika out escalated into a rumor that whoever wins the tournament gets to date him. As Cecilia and Lingyin prepare to spar, Laura appears and goads them into a two-on-one battle, effortlessly countering all their attacks. When she continues to beat them at the risk of their lives, Ichika and Charles step in to rescue them before Chifuyu puts a stop to the battle, declaring it will be settled in the inter-class tournament. It is soon announced that the tournament will be conducted in pairs, with Ichika choosing Charles as his partner.

On the day of the inter-class tournament, it is decided via lottery that Houki is to be paired with Laura against Ichika and Charles. #8 - Open Your Heart Season 2 - Episode 8 Persisting Kanzashi to be his partner, Ichika looks up on maintenance assistance for Kanzashi's personal IS, but it's not that simple. Meanwhile, upon realized Ichika insisting to pair with Kanzashi for the tag tournament, the girls take their time training more aggressively. As Tatenashi has Houki to team up with her, she analyzes Houki's physical body, to her surprise to learn that her aptitude is up to level S already. When Kanzashi takes her IS, Uchigane Nishiki, for a test run, it malfunction, then Ichika saves her before she crashes.

Having a change of heart towards Ichika, she indirectly agrees to be his partner. Then Ichika shares data from Byakushiki to help improve Kanzashi's IS, and haves other students to gladly help. Returning to his dorm room, Tatenashi insist Ichika for another massage, talking how important younger siblings can be for their elders, knowing how strict they can be for their protection.

Kanzashi having to give Ichika sweets as gift, she reaches his door only to overhear that Ichika’s generous offer was Tatenashi's idea, leaving her heartbroken. #9 - Girls Over Season 2 - Episode 12 Madoka appeared before Ichika, piloting the Black Knight IS. Tatenashi engages Squall on top of a tower at full combat. On a malfunction monorail that Chifuyu and the following students are trapped in, they deduce a time-bomb is attached to it, so Kanzashi quickly calculates the bomb’s whereabouts. As Ichika fights Madoka while reaching the train, Houki and Cecelia are attacked by Autumn and eventually rejoin Ichika, to see the train’s explosion.

Having Ichika devastated, Madoka stabbed him fatally, leaving Houki to save him and cries for his awakening. Luckily, Charlotte, Laura, Huang, and Kanzashi detained the bomb just in time. In a dream, Ichika is seized by Madoka, but then a mysterious girl in white hair gives Ichika a helping hand.

Squall has the other IS pilots vulnerable, until Tatenashi diverts her with a weapon of hers and signals for Ichika's instigates attack in White Knight form. Madoka intercepts Ichika, though he manages to strike her down, Phantom Task evacuates for now, prompting they have collected enough data, and Ichika is welcome by everyone else alive and well. A scene is shown Tabane sitting beside the mysterious girl. In a hot spring, Ichika relax while thinking about Madoka's pendant that had Chifuyu's picture. Just before Ichika leaves the bath, the girls suddenly start coming in because a person mistakenly changed the sign from male to female, to their embarrassment.

#10 - Sisters Season 2 - Episode 7 Tatenashi watches over her younger sister, Kanzashi Sarashiki, who is feeling gloomy since her personal IS was delayed due to the development company focusing on Ichika's IS. Ichika and Houki are invited to be put on exclusive magazines for personal IS pilots; during the interview, Houki exaggerates that Ichika is willing to protect her.

Later tonight, walking down the hallway, Ichika, wondering about the girl, Madoka, from before, and asks Chifuyu if they have any other relatives, claiming he is her only relative. Tatenashi entrusts Kanzashi to Ichika for the upcoming tag tournament. All of the girls interested in Ichika, plan to partner with him; however, Ichika responds that he plans to partner with someone else, Houki and Cecilia assume he implying to one of them.

Ichika plans to partner with Kanzashi. Following through, Ichika visits Class 1-4 only to be turned down by Kanzashi.

#11 - Class Representative Selection Match! Season 1 - Episode 2 Ichika is told by Chifuyu that he will be provided with his own personal IS for his match against Cecilia, a rarity since there are only 467 IS Cores that were created by Tabane Shinonono, Houki's older sister before she disappeared. To prepare himself, Houki agrees to train Ichika by practicing Kendo. On the day of the match, Ichika is given the IS Byakushiki against Cecilia's IS, Blue Tears. Cecilia has the advantage at the beginning as her IS is a Sniper while Ichika IS is a Close-range fighter but Ichika manages to transform his IS into First Shift, the IS second form and pulls out an energy sword.

Just as Ichika is about to strike Cecilia, the match is declared over and Cecilia the winner because Ichika's energy sword completely depleted his IS shields. Despite losing, Ichika agrees to train more with Houki while Cecilia is unsure of herself despite winning the match. #12 - Decisive Battle!

The Class League Match Season 1 - Episode 4 Ichika and Lingyin battle in the Inter-Class IS Tournament but their match is interrupted when a mysterious IS attacks the arena. As Ichika and Lingyin hold off the IS so the audience can escape, they soon realize the IS is an unmanned drone due to it's machine-like behavior. Together with Cecilia, the three of them manage to defeat the IS but not before it injures Ichika. As Ichika recovers while Lingyin watches over him, Ichika wonders the promise he made with Lingyin had a different meaning which the latter quickly denies. Meanwhile, Chifuyu and Maya examines the defeated IS and confirms it is an unmanned IS drone with a unique IS Core that didn't come from the 467 confirmed Cores the world has which makes them question who made it. #13 - My Classmates are All Girls Season 1 - Episode 1 Ichika Orimura is attending the Infinite Stratos Academy as he is the first male to ever pilot an IS where he becomes a sensation among the all female students of the academy.

With his homeroom teacher being his older sister Chifuyu, an ex-IS pilot, Ichika is in unease and unprepared and trying to get use to the academy. Later he learns his dorm roommate is his childhood friend, kendo champion Houki Sinonono, who he has not seen in six years. When his class decides to elect him as their class representative, the British cadet representative and noble, Cecilia Alcott is against it and challenges him to an IS duel for the position. #14 - What It Takes to Be a Hero Season 2 - Episode 9 Heavily depressed of her sister's doing, Kanzashi skips school today. Tatenashi announces the opening tag tournament at the school assembly, while Ichika goes looking for Kanzashi who's thinking how incompetent she is. Then a sudden raid, is launch onto the arena by five anti-IS units.

Chifuyu commends the Personal IS pilots a combat attack. One unit lands before Kanzashi when Ichika saves her. Kanzashi activates her IS and both battle the anti-IS. Tatenashi and Houki charge spear-strike onto their anti-IS, but its armor prove too much to penetrate, thus an explosion occurs. Ichika goes to check on the scene when Kanzashi detects Tatenashi is unconscious and fights in rage at the unit until her IS weapon power runs out. Believing it's hopeless, Tatenashi protects Kanzashi and gets fatally injure. Deep within subconscious, Ichika and Tatenashi encourage Kanzashi that no matter how weak you area hero should never run awayand accept your well-being.

Houki replenishes Ichika's energy. Kanzashi uses a charm that Tatenashi lead to her and they destroy the anti-IS, while the other units are destroyed as well. Recovering in the infirmary, Tatenashi begins to see how reliable Ichika can be and feels for him, while she and Kanzashi have a friendly sister-to-sister talk. Meanwhile, they managed to recover two of the advance anti-IS Cores, as Chifuyu decides to notify the government. Later, Kanzashi gives Ichika an anime movie as a gift, and she confesses her love to him and ran, but realizes she mistranslated that she loves anime. #15 - Heart Pain Killer Season 2 - Episode 2 After sparring with Lingyin, Ichika runs late to class and is punished by Chifuyu.

Officially meeting Tatenashi at the school assembly, Ichika oversees the selection of his class' activity for the school festival wherein Laura suggests a normal maid cafe. After receiving approval, Ichika is unwilling to receive Tatenashi as an instructor and challenges her ultimately losing. Dreaming upon the grasslands, Ichika appears to see Houki before awaking in Tatenashi's lap. Tatenashi takes Ichika training in shooting stances with Charlotte and Cecilia. Ichika returns home to find Tatenashi who incites Houki as he enters into a new training routine with Tatenashi. In the end Houki, Cecilia, Lingyin, Charlotte, and Laura all try to comfort Ichika as he falls asleep from exhaustion. #16 - Boy Meets Boy Season 1 - Episode 5 Houki has been given her own room by Maya and leaves in anger when Ichika is being dense about it but makes him promise to go out with her should she win the grade level individuals tournament, which spreads into a rumor that the winner of the tournament gets a date with Ichika.

At the same time, a transfer student, another male IS pilot from France named Charles Dunois, arrives much to the joy of the girls of the Academy due to Charles's Bishōnen looks and 'interest' with Ichika, who also becomes his new roommate. While Ichika's class has IS practice with Lingyin's class, Chifuyu has Lingyin and Cecilia battle against Maya in a Rafale Revive IS, a 2nd generation IS made by Charles' father's corporation, which Maya easily defeats Lingyin and Cecilia's more advanced ISs. While Ichika is having lunch with Houki, Lingyin, Cecilia and Charles, the girls try to give Ichika their lunches which he enjoys Houki's the most and feeds some of it to her much to the other girls' anger.

The next day, another transfer student from Germany named Laura Bodewig, an acquaintance of Chifuyu's, arrives much to the surprise of the class. Laura immediately walks to Ichika and slaps him, declaring she will not recognize him as Chifuyu's brother. #17 - Cooking My Way Season 2 - Episode 10 The girls are shown sitting down at the cafeteria questioning Kanzashi's relationship with Ichika. Kanzashi replies with 'We're just friends.'

But secretly has feelings towards him, which all the girls then reflect that upon themselves since their all in the same boat. Later that day Ichika is called to the nurse's office by Maya, where she then tells him that due to the recent attack the IS-suits must be improved. Maya then tells him the 'Student Council' asked for Ichika himself to do the body measurements.

After the debacle the group is on the roof eating lunch where Ichika is shown with a bento made by Houki. When Ichika mentions how he loves everybody's cooking, Cecelia becomes upset considering she can't cook whatsoever!

When everyone went back at their dorms Cecelia goes to Houki for help on how to make good fried chicken. With deep remorse she decides to help Cecelia anyway. When Houki gets a call and leaves the room, Cecelia purposely adds perfume and mustard to the chicken for 'touch', where Houki then taste-tests it. The next day Houki is shown absent (due to Cecelia's absurd concoction). Cecelia then goes to Charlotte for help and they start to make Charlotte's famous 'pot-au-feu'.

When Laura is tossing in her sleep due to bad dreams Charlotte goes to tuck her in and leaves Cecelia to her own accord where again she purposely adds her 'touch' to the dish (Laura is shown waking up hungry and then eats the dish). The next day Houki, Charlotte and Laura are shown absent, Cecelia asks Ichika if just him and her could eat lunch on the roof the following day, where he agrees. Finally Cecelia asks Ling for her help, Ling who has technically figured out what Cecelia has been doing tells her to try her 'own' food, but sure enough Ling ends up tasting Cecelia's sabotaged dish.

Cecelia meets Ichika on the roof, but due to her making everybody sick and not even keeping a single dish, Ichika then brings her to his dorm where they make Rice Balls. The episode ends with Tabane eating a fancy dinner with Squall (the blonde woman who is part of Phantom Task). Tabane notices how Squall was trying to drug her through soup. Autumn is then shown pointing a gun at Tabane's head where Tabane then knocks the gun out of her hand and severely injures Autumn by knocking her into a wine case. Silent Zephyrs busts through the cafe and attacks Tabane, but she easily disarms it. Tabane shows an interest in Madoka after disabling Silent Zephyrs so she makes an exception to only make a personal IS for her.

#18 - Get Ready Season 1 - Episode 11 As Ichika and Houki begin their operation, the others notice how happy Houki looks, which prompts Chifuyu to tell Ichika to watch over her carefully. As Ichika and Houki engages in battle with the Silver Gospel and is about to corner it, Ichika notices an illegal fishing boat in the area and breaks off formation to protect it. Houki is angry at Ichika for ruining the plan but he scolds her for disregarding the boat's safety, which is something she never does. However, the Silver Gospel launches a surprise attack on them, which forces Ichika to shield himself to protect Houki.

As the critically injured Ichika is admitted, Houki blames herself on what happened and wants to quit being an IS pilot but Cecilia, Lingyin, Charlotte, and Laura manages to convince her otherwise. Together, they decide to defy Chifuyu's orders to stand by and go after the Silver Gospel themselves. #19 - The Transfer Student is a Second Childhood Friend Season 1 - Episode 3 Cecilia takes a liking with Ichika and gives the position of class representative to him instead much to Houki's chargin. The next day, Ichika meets Lingyin, the new transfer student from China who also happens to be his childhood friend and also the class representative of her class. After Ichika and Lingyin get reacquainted with each other, Cecilia and Houki get jealous and coached Ichika in IS practice very hard. Upon learning Houki is Ichika's roommate, Lingyin tries to get Houki to let her become his roommate instead which Houki refuses. But Lingyin later leaves in anger after Ichika doesn't figure out the childhood promise they made and wants to settle it in the Inter-Class IS Tournament.

With his match against Lingyin and her Shenlong IS next, Ichika prepares himself. #20 - The Translucent Chord of Cinderella's Heel Season 2 - Episode 3 Tatenashi extorts Ichika for a massage before he butlers for his class' maid cafe the next day.

Stopping by the cafe, Rin orders a set wherein she has to feed Ichika personally. Disheartened after Houki interrupts her attempt to be fed by Ichika, Rin eats the pocky and is complemented as being cute. Realizing it is in comparison to a squirrel, Rin storms off leaving Reiko Makigami asking Ichika to use her company's equipment.

As Ichika goes on break, Cecilia, Houki, Charlotte, and Laura all try to join but Cecilia wins out taking him to the brass band exhibition. Returning, Ichika is abducted by Tatenashi to be the prince of the student council's rendition of Cinderella wherein, unbeknownst to him, whomever gets his crown receives the right to live with him. Under constant fire, Ichika manages to survive Rin, Cecilia, Charlotte, Laura and Houki only to be pursued by the walk-in contestants where he is dragged under stage by Reiko who desires to steal Byakushiki. #21 - The Memory of a Summer Season 2 - Episode 1 The episode begins with Ichika in a dream similar to the one he had in the last episode of the first season. However, this time when he looks to the woman in the IS who he thinks is his sister, she grabs him and strangles him while saying 'I'll kill you'. Ichika then wakes up and finds Laura sleeping with him once again, but this time she has 'clothes' on.

Laura asks Ichika to the new amusement park to end their last summer day. Ichika then suggests that they bring the whole group, angering Laura. Ichika then goes around the whole day inviting the other girls to the Amusement park. Meanwhile, Charlotte and Laura decide to go shopping. During their trip, Charlotte and Laura become mini celebrities in a clothing shop, employees at a maid cafe, and heroines when they break up a hostage situation at the maid cafe. The scene then cuts to a mysterious woman named M breaking into a heavily guarded facility to retrieve a confined IS using an extremely powerful IS of her own named Silent Zephyrus.

The scene then cuts back to the girls and Ichika at the Amusement park having a fun time. The episode ends with a quick appearance by Sarashiki Tatenashi. #22 - Thin Red Line Season 1 - Episode 10 After catching the girls listening at their room while Ichika is massaging her, Chifuyu has a talk with the girls about their feelings for her brother and gives them some advice. The next day, Tabane arrives to personally deliver to Houki the Akatsubaki, a fourth generation model with abilities far more advanced than the others.

However, Chifuyu soon receives news that an an unmanned IS called the Silver Gospel has gone out of control. After assessing the situation, Chifuyu orders the group to stop it, while Ichika and Houki will pursue it, as only they would be fast enough to catch up with the Silver Gospel. #23 - The Mysterious Lady Season 2 - Episode 4 Reiko unleases Arachne revealing herself to be Lady Autumn from Phantom Task. After detaining Ichika, Reiko reveals that it was Phantom Task who captured Ichika during the Second Mondo Grosso while she forcibly attempts to take Byakushiki. Upon arrival, Tatenashi is seemingly killed while Cecilia and Rin engage BT Second, Silent Zephyrus. Revealing the speared Tatenashi to be a water-based copy, Tatenashi along with her IS, Mysterious Lady, engages Lady Autumn.

A second season of the anime series was announced in April 2013. The anime is licensed in North America by, with simulcasts provided by on its video website. The first season of the anime is licensed in the United Kingdom by for release on February 17, 2014 on DVD. The second season of the anime aired from October 4 to December 20, 2013. The anime's soundtrack is composed. The opening theme song for the anime is 'Straight Jet', performed. The ending theme song is 'Super∞Stream', with the first episode version sung by, the second and third episode version sung by Hikasa and, the fourth and fifth episode version sung by Hikasa, Yukana and, the sixth and seventh episode version sung by Hikasa, Yukana, Shimoda and and the final version for the rest of episodes sung by Hikasa, Yukana, Shimoda, Hanazawa. Each version of the song reflects the voice actresses' character who is running with Ichika in the episodes' ending credits. The CD single for 'Straight Jet' was released on January 26, 2011, and the CD single for 'Super∞Stream' was released on February 16, 2011. Both singles are published under the label.

For the OVA, the ending theme is 'Best Partner' ( ベストパートナー, Besuto Pātonā). For the second season, the opening theme is 'True Blue Traveler' by Minami Kuribayashi and the ending theme is 'BEAUTIFUL SKY' by Yōko Hikasa. Games A 2014 video game, titled Infinite Stratos 2: Ignition Hearts for the and, was released in Japan on February 27, 2014. Its plot focuses on memories from Ichika's school festival, and is developed by A TCG game from 's FIVE qross was released on November 8, 2013. Characters from Infinite Stratos also feature in the PlayStation Vita game.

A PC mecha action game developed by titled Infinite Stratos: Versus Colors was released in Japan on December 31, 2014. Another video game titled Infinite Stratos 2: Love and Purge for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita was released in Japan on September 3, 2015. A new second PC mecha action game was also announced by titled 'Infinite Stratos: Archetype Breaker' ( インフィニット・ストラトス アーキタイプ・ブレイカー, Infinitto Sutoratosu: Ākitaipu Bureikā), set to released in late 2017.
